EHPA is pleased to invite you to the annual EHPA forum, which this year will be held in Vienna, in May 16th, 2018. The event will be taking place at the prestigious Museums Quartier, at Museumsplatz 1, 1070 Vienna, Austria, Room Arena 21.
The topic of this year’s forum is Decarb Cities. An increasing share of humans live in cities and this trend requires no-pollution solutions to maintain local air quality, reduce the effect of heat islands and provide the fair share of cities in the fight against climate change. At the same time, cities have their own budgets and can act more directly and on the ground than National or European legislators. Cities, thus, become urban labs that can explore possible pathways towards zero emissions.
The forum will be divided in three sessions.
In the first session, representatives of proactive cities that have already made substantial steps in the energy transition and are close in setting best practice examples, for other cities to follow, will explain how they have dealt the most prevailing challenges. In the second session, city planners and researchers will discuss the challenges from a planning perspective on how can the quest for zero emission cities be modelled and which tools are available to monitor execution over time. During the third and last session, light will be shed into progressive and innovative projects, which prove that any challenge can be solved with the use of sustainable and smart tools that move away from the use of fossil fuels and combustion.
Registrations will open soon and you can find the registration form, as well as more information about the forum, the program, the speakers and the venue at the official website, www.decarbcities.eu.
We are looking forward to welcoming you at the forum.
