Polish Paul Kenny
Director General, European Heat Pump Association (EHPA)Paul is a highly respected energy policy expert with extensive experience in driving the transition to clean energy at both national and EU levels. A mechanical engineer with a Master’s degree in energy, he has led major initiatives in policy, industry, and academia.
Before joining EHPA as Director General, Paul served as a senior policy advisor to the Irish climate and energy minister, playing a key role in shaping national energy policy. He previously led a local energy agency for eight years, where he established one of the first successful one-stop shops for home energy upgrades. As an expert for the EU’s ManagEnergy programme, he has supported local and regional governments in achieving their energy targets.
Paul has been instrumental in driving large-scale building renovation, expanding heat pump adoption, and accelerating renewable energy deployment. His leadership spans policymaking, strategic industry engagement, and evidence-based advocacy to position heat pumps at the core of Europe’s energy transition.
