Decarb Cities 2025: paving the path to carbon-neutral urban heating and cooling

As Europe pushes forward on its climate goals, the recent edition of Decarb Cities 2025 brought together over 150 participants in Krakow, Poland – a city actively tackling its own heating and air quality challenges.

Held at AGH University and supported by the City of Krakow, this fourth edition focused on the practical policies, funding frameworks, and technical solutions needed to help cities move from fossil-based heating to clean, resilient systems – especially heat pumps.

Across five dynamic sessions, a World Café, and a guided visit to one of Poland’s most advanced ground-source heat pump installations, attendees explored how to turn EU-level ambition into local action. From the opening remarks to the final reflections, the conversations were honest, focused, and full of momentum.

📄 Our latest press release dives deeper into Poland’s heat pump potential – and the steps needed to unlock it. Read it here or in the Decarb Cities news section.
